What school names do you all Oppose

They are taking submissions till the 19th then they are going to take the top three and let the kids in each school vote on them.

I hate the Pioneer or Mountaineer name. They're not that creative.

I suggested Wise South Copperheads for PV/AHS

I would like to see something different that includes things from both towns.

Here are some ideas.

PV/Appy: Stone Mtn., Stone Ridge, Riverside mascot Miners or ???

Coeburn/St.Paul: Sandy Ridge, Bull Run, Clinch Mtn. mascot Cougars or Mtn. Lions

JJK/Pound: Indian Creek, Hickory Gap, Birchfield, mascot Warriors or Red Hawks

Miners seems to be to only thing I can think of for PV/Appy

Coeburn/St.Paul is the hardest one of the three.

I like the Indian Creek but I don't think it would be allowed.

These are only my ideas. Hope this gets everyones minds going

The bull Run is pretty neat. That one never crossed my mind. I think it would confuse the **** outta people tho. What is a mascot warrior? Indian creek would be cool name to.


Im not a big fan of miners. I have all the respect in the world for them just don't like it as a mascot name.

Warrior could go many ways really. From Spartans to a Indian. We all know a indian can't be used.

So with that said i now favor the Red Hawks.

I really like the Bull Run.

As far as the miners just trying to give a little knowledge to them. Stone Mtn. Coytoes is a good fit I believe.

Indian Creek or Hickory Gap Red Hawks for JJK/Pound Red Black and Gray

Bull Run or Twin River Mtn. Lions or Cougars Coe/StP Royal Blue Black and White

Stone Mtn. Coyotes PV/Appy Light Blue Gold and White

I like any of those names and colors for the schools.
